Headphones

The name "headphones" is a colloquial synonym for the term "headphones". The name "telephone" (telephone, from the Greek. Tele - far, far, and phone - sound) was first used by Philipp Reis (Philipp Reis) in 1861. And in 1899, in one of the first radio receivers created by Popov, the audio frequency oscillations converted from radio signals, as described, were heard through headphones. Since the receivers were collected not only in Russia and not only from Russian components, the naming of headphones as “head phones” arose, most likely, with a literal reading of the English term headphones (English head - head, phone - phone).
